This is my final Captain’s update for 2025. I hope every member has enjoyed their year of tennis and is looking forward to even more playing opportunities in 2026.  

Senior Events & News 

Social Club Nights – Our next Club Night is on Wednesday, 10th December. Santa hats are a must, and we’ll finish with some festive Christmas treats. A message will be shared on our community WhatsApp group at the beginning of the week with details on when you can book your place via e-booking.

Whitechurch TC Box Ladders –  As the next few weeks are such a busy time, I have extended the date for Round 2. Please ensure all matches are played by 8th Jan, Round 3 will commence on 9th Jan 2026. Ladders work best when everyone plays their matches, so please do your best over the Christmas period to get them all completed.

North Cork League 2025 – Plans are in place to host the NCL Finals on Friday, 19th December! As always, we’ll be looking for some extra help to make the event a success.  We’ll be reaching out this week for volunteers, both bakers and helpers in the kitchen, for the night of the finals.

Winter League phase 1 – Great news — our WD2 & MD6 Green teams have joined our WD3 & MD4 Blue and qualified for the knockouts!  We still have our two Grade 1 teams battling through the group stages, so best of luck to everyone playing! Reminder that training continues on Friday evenings.

Winter League phase 2 – Thank you to everyone who has completed the expression of interest form. I would like to encourage more of our male players across all grades to put their names forward for selection. Team panels will be selected and entered on TS this week. However, due to the new rule that disqualifies players still competing in Phase 1 from taking part in Phase 2, we will not be announcing the final teams until a later date.

Court bookings – Over the past few weeks, we’ve shared several reminders about our Court Booking Rules. We’d like to thank all our members who continue to follow these guidelines — your cooperation helps keep our courts as active and enjoyable as they are. You can find the full list of rules and regulations on our website.  Please remember that each member is allowed a maximum of 3 hours of play during Peak Hours. If you are unable to add your name to a booking, it means you have reached your limit and should not play.

Adult Coaching –  The new term of adult coaching will commence on Monday, 12th January 2026. All information regarding registration will be shared in our community WhatsApp group. 

Junior Events & News 

Santa visit – We have a very special visitor — Santa! Our Meet & Greet will be on Saturday, 20th December from 2pm. 

Munster Premier Junior Winter Leagues – Fantastic news — our U18 Premier League team were crowned Munster Champions, well done!

Junior Hitting Practice – Takes place on Wednesdays from 3-4pm & 4-5pm. A message will be shared on our junior community WhatsApp group at the beginning of the week with details on when you can book your place via e-booking. Thanks to our teenagers for supervising each week.

Junior Coaching –  We are currently working on plans for our junior coaching programmes for 2026, with the aim of starting back in the week beginning Monday, 12th January. All communication will be shared on our Junior community WhatsApp group.
